This mini-lesson is based on a clip from a popular movie about the unlikely romance between a couple from different parts of Spain— so different that it seems impossible that they will get along. With this video and the package of supplementary materials you can learn (or teach) some colloquial language. You'll meet Rafael (Rafa), a young man who works in a typical flamenco tavern in Seville, and Amaia, a young woman from the Basque Country, who is offended when she hears Rafa telling jokes full of Basque stereotypes. Sparks will fly!
In the grammar notes we explain the use of the imperfect subjunctive, as in expressions such as «como si fuera».
